Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Jog falls - Acclimatization

Today we meet the group, hop on our bikes to get acquinted with the gears and mechanism along with a small ride to the gigantic Jog falls. The plan is to reach Talguppa before noon. Post ride we have some spare time to rest ourselves in the wet and cool environment of Jog.

Day 2 : Kodachadri base - 80 km

We start our ride post sumptous breakfast from Talguppa and ride through the Sharavathi. Enroute we visit ikkeri fort.  Ikkeri is a hamlet situated in Sagara taluk about 6 km to the south of the town centre in Sagara. It is known for the Aghoreshvara Temple, dedicated to an avatar of Shiva. The word Ikkeri in Kannada means "two streets".

Today we carry packed lunch and plan to have at Ikkeri. Post Ikkeri we continue on the smooth tar uptill we reach the ferry which will take us towards Mookambika forest. Last 10km to reach the base of Kodachadri hills is going to be a picturesque landscape but with some inclines.

Day 2 : Hidlumane Bike n Hike (20 km) & Kodachadri Jeep Safari

The Kodachadri hill is a Natural Heritage Site, which is part of the Western Ghats and forms a lovely backdrop to the famous Kollur Mookambika Temple. Famed for its glorious sunrises and sunsets, this hill range is part of the Mookambika Temple Nature Reserve.

We split the day into 2 adventurous activities.

In the first half we have a bike n hike session to visit the famous Hidlumane falls. Path to this falls is a mix of tar and offroad and passes through a dense forest and paddy fields until we reach the forest checkpost of Hidlumane. From here we have a hike of just 1 km and we reach the beautiful Hidlumane Falls. It is made up of six cascading waterfalls, each dropping 50 to 70 feet.

In the later half post lunch, we go on a jeep safari ride to the highest peak of shivamogga district, the Kodachadri betta. This is going to be the bumpiest 4x4 ride you've ever had. From jeep drop off, we have a 30mins trek to visit the Mookambika temple. The views from this elevation are going to be worth the climb.

Day 3 : Jog Falls ( 80 km )

Today we start the circuit to the Sharavathi valley. We will be riding through the wildlife reserve with rolling terrain and magnificient views of the valley. The Sanctuary lies in the Western Ghats, mainly covered with evergreen  and semi-evergreen forests in the valleys and grassy patches on  hilltops, and is immensely rich in flora and fauna both in variety and  diversity. We have another ferry to cross after an offroad patch in the jungle towards Jog.
